The fastest way to improve the quality of your own life is by doing something to improve the quality of someone else’s life.
When you make someone else smile, it automatically brings a smile to your face too.
Focus on What Makes Other People Special
Turn the spotlight of attention away from yourself and on to the people around you.
Resist the temptation to show off your talents and impress people.
Don’t wait for people to tell you that they like you. Tell them first that you like them. Most people will find you likable if you first show them how much you like them.
In short, show people you care about them.
Stop Complaining & Ask For Advice
Nobody likes people who constantly complain. Instead of telling people your opinions, ask questions about their opinions and how these opinions were formed.
The next time you feel tempted to complain, switch gears and instead ask for advice. Explain your situation to the person listening to you and instead of complaining ask them for advice. What would they do under similar circumstances?
Relationships are formed when you remember the details. Pay attention and listen carefully when you are in conversation with someone else. Make mental notes and follow-up with them at a later date and inquire about the things they talked to you about.
