If you are a person who would rather sleep-in seven days a week than wake up early – including on the weekends – you may be missing out on valuable time to be productive. Productivity does not equate with working, by the way (i.e. don’t use waking up early as a way to cram more work into the day). Instead, here are a few things you can do before the sun even rises for increased productivity—
Plan Out Your Day and Set Goals
One of the first things you should do in the morning as you’re pouring your morning brew or taking your shower is to plan out your day and set some goals. What do you hope to accomplish today? What will you prioritize? This is also a great opportunity to say “no” to things you have neither the time nor the energy for.
Exercise
Morning exercise does not have to be unpleasant nor does it need to be characterized by bringing your heart rate up to a racing level. Instead, it can be whatever you want, as long as it is movement that makes you feel good. Get outside if possible, watch the sunrise and bring your pulse up a bit.
