You open your phone for ten seconds.

Sometimes it’s permission.
Sometimes it’s evidence that it’s safe to want more.
Sometimes it’s a way to avoid the one decision that’s actually yours to make today.
Comparison is rarely about the other person.
It’s a mirror pointed at whatever you haven’t fully claimed yet.
What it feels like when this is actually cleared
When this leak is closed — not managed, closed — something shifts.
You can see someone else’s win and feel genuinely lit up by it.
You can watch someone’s launch and think good for them, and mean it, and move on.
You stop needing their pace to make sense of yours.
Your ideas stop competing for airtime with everyone else’s.
Decisions get faster because you’re not running them through a hundred invisible comparisons first.
That’s not a personality upgrade.
That’s energy that finally has somewhere to go besides someone else’s feed.
Where to start
You don’t need to quit social media. You don’t need a digital detox and a mountain retreat.
You need to notice the moment — the exact moment — your energy leaves your body and goes looking for proof somewhere else.
And in that moment, ask what it’s really hunting for.
That’s where the work is.
Not in the comparing.
