
When your energy levels are low, it can be hard to do nearly anything. From getting out of bed in the morning to driving the kids to sports practice to managing employees, you have a lot on your plate. Here are four ways to restore your energy and get your mind and body back on track:
1. Rest When You Need It
When your body is asking for a rest, give it to it. If you can’t keep your eyes open any longer, don’t; instead, take a nap, sleep in, or doing something meditative for yourself. Your body will thank you.
2. Nourish Your Body Well
If you’re fueling yourself with granola bars and Cheerios, know that your body needs and deserves more. Eat real food, like big salads, oily fish, and healthy fats.
3. Stop Doing Something You Hate
If you’re doing something you hate and that’s draining your energy, stop. When you stop performing activities that suck your energy, you’ll feel healthier and fuller.
4. Get Your Heart Rate Up
You may not be in the mood to exercise when you’re feeling low on fuel, but getting your heart rate up for a bit can help to boost energy levels. Exercising also improves your mood, boosts your metabolism, and lowers your BMI.
